ESSENTIAL OILS

Why I use essential oils? At 5 years old my son, Matthew was given the label of Sensory Processing Disorder as a sensory seeker – he was loud, played hard, pushed and was unaware of how hard he hugged and touched. My son is a sweet kind hearted person with so much love to share I want the world to know him that way not as a behavior problem. He loves hard, laughs loud and feels emotions deeply, which in my opinion makes him amazing at human”ing” because he is deep in the experience while still soulful. We met with a developmental pediatrician when Matt was little, the doctor recommended we put him on medication- I knew deep in my heart that was not the best option for my sweet boy. My husband and I agreed to look into natural solutions. We met with a holistic therapist for Matthew and started him on a sensory diet, which consists of heavy lifting, joint compression, vestibular activity and dry brushing. This worked wonders. As our family evolved I noticed the toxic load we carried and wondered about the effects on my children, my husband and I. It began to worry me so I started educating myself. If you know me at all you know I dove face first into about one hundred books because collecting knowledge is my jam! I began to research and learn more about the healing benefits of massage, yoga, Ayurveda and Essential oils. This is when I started using essential oils. I began using the oils for their physical and emotional benefits . Then slowly over time I began to weed through cleaning products, deodorant, beauty aids, vitamins, soaps and sprays. It takes time to incorporate essential oils into everyday use but the benefits are amazing. I want the best for my family, my friends and my pets. I know you do too. If you have any questions about your journey I am here to share, guide and learn. Together lets reduce our toxic load and collectively raise the vibration of this beautiful planet.

Essential oils. “These naturally occurring, volatile aromatic compounds are found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. They can be both beautifully and powerfully fragrant. Essential oils give plants their distinctive smells, essential oils protect plants and play a role in plant pollination. In addition to their intrinsic benefits to plants and their beautiful fragrance, essential oils have been used for food preparation, beauty treatment, and health-care practices.

But what exactly is a volatile aromatic compound? In short, these compounds are small organic molecules that tend to change quickly from their solid or liquid state to a gas at room temperature. They are called volatile because they change state quickly. When you first open a bottle of essential oil, you instantly notice that the aroma is potent and you can smell it typically even from some distance. The physical and chemical properties of the volatile aromatic compounds that compose essential oils allow them to quickly move through the air and directly interact with the olfactory sensors in the nose. Such unique properties make essential oils ideal for applications inclusion in aromatherapy – using these compounds from plants to help maintain a healthy mind and body – as well as other applications. The type of volatile aromatic compounds present in an essential oil determines both the oil’s aroma and the benefits it offers. ” ~ doTERRA Essential Oils.
